Karen Hirshfield graduated from the University of Michigan in 1994 and New York University School of Law, cum laude, in 1997, where she was a staff editor on the Annual Survey of American Law. Karen has extensive experience representing both acquirers and targets in M&A transactions, as well as issuers in venture capital / private equity transactions. She also concentrates on advising private entities with respect to their day-to-day corporate and commercial matters, including corporate law issues, formation of entities, and commercial contracts. Prior to joining Danziger and Danziger, Ms. Hirshfield was counsel at Lowenstein Sandler, PC in the Corporate Finance and Securities Group. From 2000 to 2004, she was an associate at Frankfurt, Kurnit, Klein & Selz, PC in the New Media Group specializing in private equity transactions, and from 1997 to 2000 she was an associate in the Corporate Group at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, LLP.

Reneé L. Klaperman received her BA Magna Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa and her JD, Cum Laude from the State University of New York at Buffalo, where she was an Articles Editor for The Buffalo Law Review. As a tax associate at Breed, Abbott and Morgan, Ms. Klaperman structured corporate and partnership acquisition vehicles, R&D and real property syndications, and worked on equipment leasing, sale/leasebacks and general international and corporate tax matters, before concentrating on general real estate transactions. At Shearman & Sterling, she acted as lenders’ counsel in construction, bridge, acquisition, public development, and workout financings; represented commercial purchasers, sellers, landlords and tenants, and coordinated real estate aspects of multi-state LBO’s. Ms. Klaperman is the author of LITERARY LIES, A Novel and, when not practicing law, is writing her second novel, LORETTA’S GARDEN.

Georges G. Lederman, Counsel to the Firm, has his own practice in Criminal Defense, Civil Litigation, Art Law, and Commercial Arbitration. He graduated Brown University, A.B., with honors in History in 1979, attended the University of Geneva, Switzerland from 1977 to 1978, and received his J.D. from Georgetown University in 1984. Mr. Lederman has worked as a Lead Articles Editor for The Tax Lawyer, as an associate at Kelley, Drye & Warren, and as an Assistant District Attorney in New York County.

Deborah Levy received her BA from Smith College an her law degree from the Georgetown University Law Center, where she was the managing editor of Law and Policy in International Business.  Prior to her association with Danziger, Danziger and Muro, she was an associate specializing in securities issues with Drinker Biddle & Reath in Washington, D.C., and with Cadwalader, Wickersham and Taft in New York.  She is fluent in Spanish.

Glenn Schoenfeld received his BA, summa cum laude from the University of Baltimore in 1994 and his J.D. cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center in 1997. He was an associate in the corporate departments of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP from 1997 to 2005 and Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker LLP from 2005 to 2009. Mr. Schoenfeld has a wide range of experience in mergers and acquisitions, both private and public, domestic and international. He has represented private equity funds, venture capital investors and start-up companies in their investment and capital raising efforts, and in the formation of joint ventures. He has provided general corporate advice to a variety of companies. He authored the article “Winning M&A Auctions” published November 24, 2008 in Investment Dealers Daily. Mr. Schoenfeld is a member of the board of directors of Metropolis Ensemble, a non-profit chamber orchestra based in New York and has served as legal advisor to Golden Children, Inc., a non-profit orphanage in Cambodia.

Charles H. Wagner received his AB cum laude from Harvard College, his law degree magna cum laude from Cornell Law School, where he was on the Cornell Law Review and the Cornell International Law Journal, and was elected to the Order of the Coif, and his LLM in Taxation from New York University Law School. Mr. Wagner was a tax partner in the New York office of Coudert Brothers from 1986 through 2005, and a tax partner at Baker & McKenzie from 2005 to 2008. Mr. Wagner specializes in the tax aspects of partnerships and joint ventures, investment funds and managers, investment products, real estate, and mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Wagner also advises high net worth clients on a range of trust, investment, and income, estate and gift tax matters.
